Poppy King is well known for her lipstick line Lipstick Queen and has made quite a name for herself and her retro red lipstick looks. She now has collaborated with Boots No 7, the British beauty giant to create a line of lipsticks and lip glosses called “The Magic of Lipstick”.
I’ve owned a few Liptick Queen lipsticks before so I was happy to see this beauty on a budget pairing. Poppy was inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s famous beauty mark to create the polka-dot packaging and the whole collection was inspired by old Hollywood glamour. That is apparent in the seven lipstick names and coordinating glosses with them.
- Number One – History
- Number Two – Power
- Number Three – Glamour
- Number Four – Seduction
- Number Five – Intrigue
- Number Six – Confidence
- Number Seven – Allure
Each lipstick and gloss has their own shade of packaging as well. Very thought out. I have the shade Number One – History and it is a medium sheer lipstick that you can build the intensity of coverage by layering. The gloss is also medium sheer and a creamy nice formula.
The duo look more orangey red in the packaging but when applied a bit more pink comes through. These are both nice and creamy and I would highly recommend. I hope you are near a target that carries them to check them out in person!
These lipsticks and glosses are available at Boots online and at select Target stores for only $9.99. A nice bargain considering her lipsticks in the Lipstick Queen line are $18.

I was dying for these to make their debut, but I couldn’t wait for them to come out at Target, so I ordered from the Boots website. I bought “Intrigue” and it’s a little more orangy than I’d like, but they are very sheer.
They are nice and sheer!
Love the Lipstick Queen lipsticks. Now I need to find one of these to try!
