With Lancome’s Bronze Azure Summer 2011 Color Collection

I want to look like I have that summer glow, but not overly bronze with harsh looking bronze shades. Well, Lancome’s Summer Color Collection, Bronze Azure to the rescue! Their summer look gives me that soft golden bronze look.

Personally the Molton Stone quad of eye shadows with the collection doesn’t suit my coloring. Plus, I’m not a huge fan of blue, the 70′s come creeping back to easily. A perfect subsitute is their new Color Design eye shadow palette in Kissed by Gold.

Have you had the opportunity to try these shadows? The texture is fantastic – a creamy powder with a lot of pigment. They are very easy to blend and mix. Some of the other shades are quite shimmery/glittery, but not Kissed by Gold. There is some shimmer, but a lot of it is overlay, so once it’s used the major shimmer is gone leaving behind pretty glowy shades.

Lancome makes it easy for us to use too – it comes with the 5 steps for each shade and where to use them.

Shown above are the shadow color swatches – #1 the creamy tone all-over shade, #2 the golden bronze lid shade, #3 the crease shade of satin/matte finish of bronze gold, #4 a peachy golden bronze highlighter shade and #5 a shimmer brown liner.

For the first time Lancome is offering bronzers in a matte finish and they come in a variety of shades to suit your skintone. My shade is Star Bronzer Natural Matte in 03 Sunbath which is not orange, not too dark and not too much of a overly bronzed look. Since there is not shimmer, it can also be used for contouring -something I have been playing with as of late.

For lips I love the L’Absolu Rouge formula and this L’Absolu Nu shade in Coral Sand is perfect for this summery natural bronze look. It’s not a bright coral, but instead a neutral coral with a hint of warmth to it. I have quite a bit of pink in my lips, so it doesn’t look as coral as it might on some.

So, for the finished look here is what I used top to bottom:

Teint Miracle Instant Retouch Pen in Shade #3 (which I will discuss at a later date)
Teint Miracle Foundation in Buff 6(w)
Star Bronzer Natural Matte in 03 Sunbath – used on cheeks, forhead, chin and neck
Color Design Eye Shadow Palette in Kissed by Gold – used with their 5 step directions
Mascara is Ôscillation Intensity in black
Le Crayon Poudre Brow Pencil in Natural Blonde
Lipstick is L’Absolu Nu in Coral Sand

For me, this is a summer look I will wear often.
