Green Eyes – The Envy of Everyone

We always seem to hear about blue eyes or brown eyes, but not much about green eyes.  So why not create your own green eyes!  Military shade of khaki green is really popular right now, but there really are a lot of pretty green shades to wear in addition to the military tones.   The key to wearing green is to keep the shades age appropriate.   What does that mean?   Avoid super vibrant green shades like lime and chartreuse, leave that to the teens.    We’re about soft, pretty and maybe even a pop of color.

Above are shades that work with cool and warm tones, depending on what works best for you.

Top Row:
Giorgio Armani Beauty Emerald Green Liner.
Afraid of a green shadow?  This eyeliner adds a subtle pop of color instead of an all over shade.

Dior 5 Couleurs Designer palette in Designer Greens offer cooler shades of green in a palette that gives you variety of shades to work with.   The colors can be layered for a more intense look or softly applied for a hint of green.

Bobbi Brown Ivy Shimmer Ink Gel Liner.  The ivy shade is a deep emerald shade that looks beautiful with a variety of eye shadow shades, from tans and browns to gold or silver.

Middle Row:

Lancome shadow in Designer.   A deep military khaki green that is so popular right now.  This would be great for creating a smoky eye.

L’Oreal Forest Smoke palette.  This palette has it all, from cream to pretty gold, green and taupe/grey.  This palette is a very wearable green set that every green lover should own.

Bottom Row:

Chanel Duo in Khaki Clair.  A pale cream and soft deep forest green shadow duo.   Again, another great smoky eye set in a super soft texture.

Dior Precious Green Liner.   Similar to the Armani liner, but a bit warmer for those who might be nervous with the slightly bluer green.

Bobbi Brown Metallic Cream Shadow in Moonstone.   A pale shimmering green with golden flecks.   This is a long wearing cream shadow too.

Love your site! Great advice – usually, everything you read is for 20 somethings.

I’d love to link to your site from mine, which is also for women over 40. Let me know if you’re okay with that.

I guess I’m lucky enough to have green eyes but I also love green eyeshadow, pencil eyeliner and liquid eyeliner. Yves St. Laurent used to do a lovely khaki shade of liquid eyeliner that really made my eyes stand out. I’ve also been using Clinique quick eyes Khaki liner for years – pencil at one end and shadow on the other.
