I realize I just spoke about the Laura Mercier Ovarian Cancer Fund just the other day, but I also received word that Friday (tomorrow), September 7th is National Wear Teal Day. To show your support, in addition to the items I talked about being able to purchase, you can go to this site and “like” and save and upload the teal lip image – photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, wear teal and upload your image on the Laura Mercier Facebook Page, too.
Donations have already been made to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Cancer and Careers. “We are truly grateful to the Laura Mercier Ovarian Cancer Fund for being our partner in this life-saving work,” said Dr. Carol Aghajanian of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. “Our goal is nothing short of a transformation in the detection and treatment of the disease. This donation allows us the freedom to move quickly on leads, and to test promising theories as they arise.”
To help raise awareness and educate woman about ovarian cancer, Laura Mercier will work with Cancer and Careers, an initiative of the Cosmetic Executive Women Foundation, to develop a series of educational online videos on topics geared toward individuals balancing a career with cancer treatment.
Cancer and Careers is a non-profit organization focused on empowering and educating people with cancer to thrive in their workplace by providing expert advice, interactive tools and educational events.
Lastly, if you are on Twitter use the hashtag #LMOCF and Marie Claire will donate $1 to the fund. RT away!
