So what does one do after getting an email from Oprah’s people asking to try a product for O, The Oprah Magazine? Well, after having a few heart palpitations and thoughts of “how cool is that!” you of course say “YES!”. That’s the scenario that occurred when I was asked to try a new product (at that point I had no idea what it was) and then once I agreed to it, they told me they would send me a total of 10, for me to use and 9 others so we could give our opinions on L’Oreal RevitaLift Miracle Blur. I handed them out to family, friends, co-workers and beauty followers. They ranged in beauty fanatics like me to those that aren’t quite as intense in their beauty regimen as I am, but still use skincare religiously and wear some level of makeup.
I’ll give you my opinion first and share what the others thought of Miracle Blur.
My first thought is – what is this product? It’s not a moisturizer or serum, it says it’s not a primer, but it’s also not a foundation. Hmmm. You wear it on top of your serums and moisturizers and it can be worn before you apply your foundation or instead of foundation. Curious, right? It has a Broad Spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen and is said to “Erase the look of wrinkles, lines and pores”. I felt like it was a mixture of a sunscreen and primer. We don’t always want to use a sunscreen because they can be sticky etc, but this has great sun protection without the stickiness. In fact, it mattifies the skin – which is great for those of us with oily skin, those who tend to have large pores and yes, those pesky fine lines too. It does soften and blur and it makes a liquid foundation go on smooth as silk. I also like knowing that I have the extra sun protection and a built-in primer without two separate layers, one of sunscreen and another of primer. What really surprised me about this was how thick it is. I mean it’s really, really thick. It’s difficult to get out of the tube, kind of thick. But you only need a pea size and then it smooths across the skin and melts into the skin leaving it soft and well, blurred is a good word.
Here’s what some of my testers had to say:
Nicki: After some trial and error, I came to like the L’Oreal Miracle Blur. It is VERY thick. Much thicker than you’d imagine. The first day I put it all over my face and probably too much. I use a powder concealer, and the concealer didn’t spread evenly on my face with such a thick lotion that doesn’t really absorb into your skin. The next few days I only used a small amount on the problem areas: around my eyes, mouth, forehead, etc… I learned a little goes a long way, and it works with my concealer so much better. I do like the results around my eyes, the crows feet were much less noticeable. It seems to work best with the finer wrinkles. I also like that it is an instant fix, and not something you have to wait a few weeks to see the results. It would be helpful if there were better directions for use on the package. The directions only describe how to use the product as a sunscreen, and not at all how to use the product as a miracle wrinkle eraser.
Carrie: I absolutely love it Kari. I have been using it under my foundation in the mornings. My makeup goes on so smoothly. I also use it before putting on my moisturizer at night. It goes on like silk. A nice product. The only thing I don’t like is the packaging. I actually cut my tube in half and left it on the counter like that to get the product out. It is thick and it seemed to be “stuck” on the bottom.
Dawn: I’ve been using the product for about a week now. What I like about the product is how it feels like it “seals” my makeup. My foundation seems to last for the work day… I don’t come home, look in the mirror and wonder if I put any foundation on this morning. I’ve tried it both under my foundation and mixed with my foundation. I like it better under my foundation. When I mixed it with the foundation it felt a bit thick. It definitely feels hydrating, and with this dry weather it is a welcome feeling.
Beth: I ended up giving mine away. I didn’t like the consistency – it’s way too thick, and I didn’t like how the sunblock felt on my skin.
Chastity: Well I have been using it everyday. It is very soft. It makes my face feel like satin. I have very oily skin and was afraid it would make my face look and feel greasy but it has done the exact opposite. My face is matte and smooth and looks fresh all day long while wearing it. And I think it helps to smooth my fine lines also. I would highly recommend it to others.
Monica: I have been testing the new L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur and what a god-send it has been! I positively love it! It fills in and lightly diffuses my fine lines and wrinkles, seems to reduce my pore size and virtually removes all the tiny flaws that my face contains! It really seems to smooth and obscure my wrinkles — especially when I use it under my foundation it makes a HUGE difference. I love that my skin feels amazing when I use it, so much so that I find myself using it as my nighttime moisturizer as well.
When/if I hear from the other testers, I’ll be sure to post their comments as well. After reading these comments, is this something you would consider buying?

Thank you so much for the reviews! I, too, am blessed/cursed with oily skin, and there are so few products that seem to work for my skin. Glad to hear about this new option. Will definitely try it!
Hi Kari,
Congrats on the Oprah ask! How fun! I saw Miracle Blur the othernight at CVS. Naturally I stopped in my tracks. I was also confused at what it is, exactly… I decided to wait and hear and voila here is your post. I have the feeling the thick consistency would not be for me…sounds like the work of the sunscreen. Besides, how much more could i possibly put on my face everyday? Thanks Sweetie!
This sounds like a great product! My skin is oily and I shine through almost everything I’ve ever tried. I’m willing to give this a shot.
my skin is kinda dry but I have huge pores so I am tempted to try it, just concerned that it will look cakey on drier skin
Just curious how it compares to “Nano-Blur” because I’ve heard that’s a good one, too. I don’t like the idea of something being “thick” on my skin. But I DO like the idea of something that blurs my imperfections.
I’ve not tried Nanoblur before, so unfortunately I can’t offer a comparison.
JT I know one of the testers has dry skin and she did not feel like it was cakey on her skin.
This sounds like Nano-blur which I reviewed a while back, and I didn’t get it. If you put moisturiser on your face, then primer where is this supposed to go? Then putting foundation on with powder it’s all a bit much for me!
I’ve been wanting to try this;now I definitely will, especially since my skin type is very similar to yours,Kari.Great reviews!!
I just bought my first tube of Miracle Blur. I have all the L’Oreal products and like most, I’m tired of waiting for several weeks to get a result. I have oily skin and the minute I bought it I put it on in the parking lot and was shocked at how it changed my face. I came home and immediately washed it off and put it on again thinking it was a fluke, it wasn’t it made my skin feel like silk all night and it visibly changed the appearance of my skin. I love it! Finally.
