The other day while sitting in my car waiting for it to warm up before I drove home my phone flashed that I had a text. I didn’t recognize the number right away and thought it was one of those spam texts. As I started reading it I figured out who it was from. A former co-worker from Dior at Macy’s was sending me a story about a beautiful love that brought tears to my eyes while I sat there reading.  Her text said:

Hi Kari! I wanted to share this with you! How often do we really get to experience true love, the true meaning of “till death do us part, for better or for worse”? My heart melted, my eyes swelled up with tears as an elderly man brought his wife with Alzheimers to sit with my associate at Smashbox today. He said he was there to learn how to do makeup so that he could do his wife’s makeup every day to make her feel beautiful again! As he continuously reminded her every moment that they had beautiful children and grandchildren that loved her very much, he also watched very carefully as he learned how to make her feel beautiful again. After spending about an hour on a lesson and a few purchases later, they are on their way home to live out the rest of their lives together and those of us at the store are still crying an hour later! True love, that is all we can say!!

This story was more beautiful than any makeup could ever make a person. True love.
