Lets face it, everyone loves a makeover story, right? Someone goes from a plain Jane look to a diva in a matter of a few hours. Â But, does she keep up the look when all she has time at home to give herself is maybe 10 minutes to do her makeup and not an hour? Â I’ve often wanted to follow up with women who’ve had them publicly done to see if she is still keeping up the look at home. Well, now you can do your own makeover in the time YOU have to do it yourself. Â Robert Jones’ newest book Makeup Makeovers in 5, 10, 15, 20 Minutes: Expert Secrets for Stunning Transformations is here to help you give yourself the makeover you want in your time.
Robert Jones is president of simple beaute and a well-known hair and makeup artist with a client list that spans from Marie Claire, Elle magazines and more to Sheryl Crow, Diahann Carroll, Nexxus, Bergdorf Goodman and more. Â He has a line of makeup brushes and organizational tools and plans to launch his own line of signature makeup.
In the book he gives us demonstrations and step-by-steps on how to create the look we’re after.  Giving us exactly what tools and products are needed.  He also gives us snippets of advice like “Anytime you’re using bright colors on the eye, you need to ground them with neutrals” and “Playing matte against shimmer creates a natural glow” and how to create a 5 minute evening look – no need to spend half an hour to look all glamorous for that night out.  There’s also a glamorous 20 minute look if you are so inclined to spend more time.  There’s a look for every level of time and every level of look.
I am thrilled that Robert’s book has so many photographs of step-by-step on where to place which eye shadow color and which brush to use to create the look, and how to get a flawless canvas, and really where to place that shimmer on the cheeks. Â All these pieces and more are so useful and easy to follow along that you never have to worry again about how to get a beautiful look in the time you have available.
For a limited time while supplies last, when you order your book from Barnes and Noble or Amazon, just email your receipt with your mailing address to [email protected] and you will be sent the Robert Jones’ #28 eyeshadow blending brush free! Â A $21 value. Â But only while supplies last. Â And you’ll notice he uses this brush quite often in the book.

It depends. Five to ten minutes on days off and a good 20 min. or so on workdays, which feels like too much time.
Thanks & Happy 2012
My honest answer would be I really have no idea.
When I do do my makeup, it is my time to relax and have with it! No rush!
TY
5-10 minutes usually.
Happy New Year,
I spend at least 30 minutes doing my makeup for work and over an hour if I am going somewhere special. Also take into account my person Prince concerts I perform for myself.
I spend about 5 – 8 minutes daily, for work, etc. For nights I’m going out, it’s at least 20 – 30 minutes.
i don’t wear makeup often, but, when i do, it takes me about 15-20 minutes and i;d love to cut that down!
My time in the morning hours are precious….so If I am lucky to get 15 minutes it is s luxury!! Most days are spent driving to work with my husband and I am appling Mascara and lipstick as he drives me!!
Id love to learn new tips and tricks for eye brightening.
Great giveaway! I love Robert Jones and just live for makeover shows, articles, etc., always have. I would say 15 minutes daily and that is for a polished look, not dramatic or anything. I think brows take me the longest, because I really have none and must recreate them every day. My favorite item to apply is always blush
Sadly, at least half an hour.
I really need to shave some time, but my sparse eyebrows demand careful filling in with powder every day. Tedious, but mandatory!
I’m also very interested in learning about his concealer tips. Another minefield for me!
I probably spend about 30 mins on average…although my husband would say 2 hours! LOL
I would love to wind this book since you’ve mentioned it illustrates step by step placement. I bought another Robert Jones book years and years ago and it was full of makeovers but not the steps involved.
Thanks!
I’d say about 20 minutes for me! Thanks for the great giveaway!
Around 10-15 minutes daily.
I think I spend around 10 minutes or less from day to day (and that’s putting on pretty much everything!). But when we go out to an event, I spend more like 30 minutes making sure my canvas is perfect and everything stays in place for the night!
About 10 minutes!
I spend around 20 min in the morning for work – if I’m going out which I hardly do it seems at night – I spend a little more by adding lashes and more shimmer.
i spend about 15 minutes. If I am tired it takes longer!!
I’d love to be better at shaving minutes off my routine and being a bit lower maintenance, but…truthfully I think I spend about 15 minutes on my hair and about 10-15 minutes on my makeup.
Work days I usually spend about 15 minutes on makeup, none on hair. Days off I typically skip makeup, but if I need a little something it’s usually just a couple minutes spent on concealer and mascara.
It takes me about five minutes in the a.m. very simple, but full make-up.
My morning makeup routine is about 10 minutes, and my hair routine is about 7 minutes. I would love to read the ideas in the book.
Time depends on if it is the weekend or a workday.
5 (approx) on Saturdays 8-10 minutes the rest of the time.
Love to learn how to apply it better, I’ve got a (gasp) 30 year class reunion this year.
I can spend 5 to 30 minutes on makeup. It just depends on how much time I have – and if I care how good I look that day! Ha
Roughly 20-30 minutes.
I would say 20 minutes. My husband would heartily disagree.
Hi! I usually spend 30min or more depending on the occasion I’m going to. Thanks for the giveaway
It takes me around 20 minutes, and that is a minimal amount of makeup, as I am disabled, and my arms and hands give out very quickly. I would love to have as many short-cuts as possible. Even I like to at least try to feel pretty daily. It just doesn’t always work out that way.
I usually spend about 20 minutes for every day and an extra 5 for a night out. My eyes take the biggest chunk!
I try not to spend over 15 minutes in the morning doing my make-up. I don’t usually have time but I do want to look polished. I would love to have Robert Jones’ book to help me out.
Ten minutes in a rush, but on average 20 minutes. It takes a lot of effort to look “natural” these days! I’ve checked out his website…love his style and look.
I would say 15-20 minutes for morning makeup — sometimes less when mayhem (i.e., kids) erupts somewhere in the house
Looking forward to checking out the book.
Far, far too long! I can do my eyes and lips very quickly, but my skin is showing it’s age (58) and it takes forever to make it look decent, as in enough coverage to smooth things out yet not look heavy or cakey. I hate getting old, and sometimes, I hate myself for it! I’d love to read this book; maybe it would have some pointers that would really help me. Thank you.
I would say an average of 10 minutes…a little less than that for a “quick, everyday face” and a little more than that if I’m going somewhere special or want to play with some new colors. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I sure seem to get in a rut sometimes with the same old makeup routine.
