This month CVS/pharmacy had several new beauty releases that you’ll be sure to put on your list of items to check out.
An excellent skincare line, Lumene, now has their own BB Cream that rivals the high end department store brands. This lightweight BB Cream has a broad spectrum SPF 20 and Vitamin C+, Arctic cloudberry which is a key anti-aging ingredient of the Lumene Vitamin C+ line. This BB Cream brightens the skin like a primer, evens the skin tone with the heavy foundation feeling, hydrates the skin offers sun protection and anti-aging properties in one. And I absolutely love how this looks and feels on the skin.
CoverGirl has a new mascara in the LashBlast line, Clump Crusher. If you’ve liked the results you’ve gotten from LashBlast before, but didn’t like the overly large brush head, then you’re going to love this new mascara. Not only is the head smaller, it’s slightly curved to help curl the lashes and it really does give clump-free lashes. Here’s what my before and after images look like using CoverGirl Clump Crusher with no other makeup and only 2 coats of mascara.

have somewhat long lashes, but very wimpy. This makes them look really long, curled and it opens up the eye.
Having been a fan of Pantene since I was a young teen, I was excited to learn about this new line in the Pantene Expert Collection called AgeDefy. I knew many months ago that they were coming out with the line as P&G developers wanted to talk to me about the line, I just had to keep quiet! One thing I said was to please not promote a product for women over 40 (as that is the target for this line) and use a spokesmodel that is in her 20′s or 30′s as so many companies do. Yay! They are using Courtney Cox – a perfect example as a woman over 40 with gorgeous hair. That said, the line includes Shampoo, Conditioner and an Advanced Thickening Treatment. Women over 40 tend to lose volume and thickness in their hair and this is designed to help bring it back and make your hair up to 10 years younger, according to the company. I just know I’ve now added this Pantene Age Defy line to my must-haves as I like it that much.
CoverGirl also has a new nail polish line called Outlast Stay Brilliant. It offers a super-shiny coat that doesn’t require a top coat and it lasts for several days without chipping. I like the high gloss shine and the classy looking bottle looks like an expensive Chanel polish bottle. There are 27 polish shades in the line – and a perfect stocking stuffer too!
Vichy, a French skincare line that’s available at CVS/pharmacy has the new LiftActiv Serum 10. This has 7 European patents and has a key ingredient Rhamnose 10% which helps stimulate Derm Source activity – a vital layer of skin that affects the key signs of aging. Instantly you may notice wrinkles are less prominent and skin has a tightened and lifted effect. Over time skin texture is softer, pores less prominent and skin is overall smoother and hydrated.
The new Volumizing Styling Powder by Schwarzkopf got2b works like a dream to refresh the hair. Typically I’m not big fan of hair powders for whatever cause. Some are good some are just down-right bad. But this had the best tip on how to use it written on the package and what a difference it makes! Sprinkle some into your hand and give it a little rub then press your palms into the hair and apply the product this way rather than shaking the product right onto the hair. Brilliant idea! And what a difference it makes. You’ll notice the texture in your hand makes it feel like a matte silicone type feel to it. This would be great to use when you’ve worked all day and want to run out for a holiday party after work a put a little oomph back into your hair.
