Movie night tends to be our thing for date night. Many times we’ll forgo the dinner and a movie and just do a movie with cocktails and an appetizer afterwards, so I want to wear something more than denim and a t-shirt. What to wear for movie night? Here’s a look that’s pulled together, stylish and comfortable.
Raquel Allegra top – The color and the texture of the fabric add a bit of dressiness to the casual, flowy cut. Vince Camuto pants - These straight leg, ankle cut pants add to the “cool” factor. This Marni bag is a classic go-anywhere tote. Add a bit of print and texture with the leopard print shoes and keep jewelry simple yet interesting with the Tory Burch bracelet, Michael Kors earrings and Danielle Stevens necklace. If you live in a colder climate top off the look with a cape style jacket or sweater.
And the movies I have on my list this extended weekend
Having been a Bond movie fan since I was a teen I’m always up for a 007 movie. I hear Skyfall is one of the best of the Bond series so I won’t miss this one either.
My oldest son went to Lincoln when it hit the theaters and said it was superb even though he didn’t like the ending. He revealed nothing to me about the movie, but it’s on my must-see list and I haven’t been to a can’t-miss Spielberg movie in a while. I think this one will end that drought.
Marion Cotillard has been getting Oscar buzz with the movie Rust and Bone. I have a feeling I’ll be hitting the theater alone with this one as it’s a romance and it is subtitled – two minuses against me for date night. Do you ever go to a movie alone? I know some people feel uncomfortable doing it, but I enjoy the solitude and being able to enjoy a movie at times without the wonder if the person I’m with is enjoying it or not.
What’s on your movie list?

I understand that the items above are suggestions, but recommending almost a $2,000 handbag and almost a $300 blouse? Just because a woman is over 40 doesn’t mean she’s a millionaire.
I completely understand that, but it’s also a way to take a look and inspire to find something similar in whatever your budget may be.
I love your suggestions and the price points are great! Thank you so much and keep them coming.
Thanks!
With the opening of what appears to be a good movie every week before Christmas, my husband and I expect to be very busy! We saw “Skyfall”…loved it.
Saw “Lincoln”…loved it, but cried through it. (tell your son the ending is real!) Just saw “Anna Karenina”…strange, but beautiful and entertaining. I can’t wait for “The Hobbit” and “Les Mis”!!!
You can always count on this time of year to be a decent movie season – right before the Oscars are nominated. Loved Skyfall too and can’t wait to see the others you have mentioned Mamavalveeta!
Somehow I missed this post earlier. Great ideas!
Thanks!
