I’m sure you’ve all heard about the nearly “magical powers” Creme de la Mer skincare has by some of its die-hard followers.   For me, it was always a bit too heavy, bit too much for my skin.   But I’ve also heard wonderful things about their foundations too – even from those that don’t love the skincare line like me.  So I had to check it out.

This Treatment Powder Foundation is the newest addition to their foundation line, and the first in powder form.  I really like the fact that it has SPF 15, and this contains the La Mer skincare benefits (without being heavy) along with Tourmalines to capture light and energy – optically erasing  imperfections, to give you a flawless complexion.   It also contains airspun seaborne particles to give your skin that soft, smooth feeling.

This foundation is not “Beauty on a Budget” by any means at $95.  The compact is beautiful in silver and white with a mirrored inside, and a 2 level compact.   On the top is the foundation powder and below a vented compartment will house either a wet sponge or powder puff.

Here’s what I like about this foundation – for a quick, non-heavy powder look the puff will give you a lighter coverage.   I’m just not so sure I love the puff they have included and will try one from another brand to see what kind of coverage I get.   Dampen the sponge to give your face a more full coverage look – still without being heavy.

Another thing I like about this foundation is, if you use it wet and then decide another time to use it dry, the wetness doesn’t ruin the powder like many other wet/dry foundations.   One of the things the SA told me is that you never should use a foundation brush or any brush for this foundation as it’s just too delicate.    But then I was reading about this foundation on another site and she claimed she loved using a brush – so one day I figured I’d give it a try that way as well.   Hmm – about an hour later I had a glimpse of myself in the mirror and I was MORTIFIED!   My foundation looked horrible!   The sales lady is right – this needs to be applied delicately.  Because this went on too heavily for a brush, my foundation looked like a whole different color on my face – and not in a good way,  so be sure to use as directed.
