Last week while aimlessly wandering the Mall of America – yes the world’s largest mall, while every mother, father, and child in America and who knows how many other countries must have been at the mall while I foolishly was there – I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this.

At first I thought it was like a huge billboard by all the kiosks and thought “hmm, Sephora is right down the hall, odd they are advertising right here”. Then I got closer and realized it was a true Sephora vending machine! I stood there spellbound, mostly because it took me off guard. Then I watched as many others walked up to it and thought it was funny, strange, cool idea – these were all the comments I heard in the short while that I stood there while hundreds of busy shoppers walked by.

How strange to have it in the middle of a mall when there are 4 major department stores, a Sephora, several boutique stores like MAC, Origins and the like all within a few or a few hundred steps away. But then it hit me – this should be in EVERY SINGLE AIRPORT after security checkout. I bet they would have to re-load it every single day if not several times a day. Security took your makeup remover? Swipe your credit card on the machine and out spits Lancome BiFacils. Forgot to put your shampoo in mini travel bottles? How about your coveted Perricone skin care? Bare Minerals beauty kit is in there too all waiting for you!

I’ve been in and out of many airports in the last year and I have never seen one of these Sephora Beauty Vending machines and I think we all should write to Sephora and ask them to please get on this one right away. Especially now with increased security. And because it’s a FABULOUS idea!
