Lancome Summer Eyes and a Giveaway!

I saw this gem of a kit, Lancome Hypnotic Eyes Summer Glow at Macy’s Southdale the other day and was impressed with the value.   Two full-sized Color Design eye shadows, a full size Le Stylo waterproof eye liner in black, a full sized Hypnose Drama mascara and a mini Aquatique Waterproof Eyecolor Base all for $39.50.  The Color Design shadows are $17 each, so it’s like getting the mascara and liner for free!

The shadows are (left) Glaze a soft creamy shimmer and (right) Exhibition a rosy shade with a sheen texture and are very wearable shades.    What I really like about this kit, besides the price, is that your can get a nicely polished look without much effort – perfect for summer!   I put the base on and then the Glaze shade on the lid and the Exhibition shade in the crease.  I then lined with the waterproof liner and topped with the mascara and was are set for a melt-free summer day.  It’s a beautiful, classic, polished look for summer.  The non-makeup, makeup look.

    Lip balm! My lips get really dry in the summer. I usually wear Bobbi Brown or Paula’s Choice lip balm as they have SPF in them.

    I work outdoors, so for me sunscreen is a year-round thing. That said:

    Cheek stain – everything melts off otherwise! I’ve been wearing Benefit Posietint for years, but this year I’ve been playing with chachatink. Such a pretty coral!

    Being a redhead, sunscreen is essential, but after that, I’d have to say a good tinted moisturizer – Laura Mercier is my absolute favorite, though Bobbi Brown’s is a pretty close second.

    During the summer I must use an oil control product. Right now I’m using Smashbox, but OC8 and TeaseZone are also great. Thanks!

    Because of the extremely hot temperatures this summer, my must have product is water. I am never without water and always drinking lots of it.

    I am an avid gardener so I’m outside a lot. My summer must have is Leonor Greyl’s Huile de Palme. Not only does it protect my hair from the effects of the sun, it is a treatment as well.

    My summer must have is air conditioning! Seriously. I will D-I-E here in Florida without it. Actually it is almost a year round must have for me. Must have cosmetic is lip balm with SPF.

    I never leave the house without sunscreen. I put it on daily, everywhere, I’m allergic to the sun and I live in Florida, go figure! Next would be sunglasses, got to protect the peepers.

    SPF lotion, sunhat, and a little spritz of Evian mineral water facial spray as a coolant. Since I am fair- and sensitive-skinned, the sun is not my friend. A little sun goes a long way.

    I use sunscreen everyday of the year, so I can’t say it’s a summer-thing, exactly… I just discovered Bobbi Browns lip gloss and have enjoyed it for a fresher look this summer.     I really love Lancome products. The one thing on my “must have” list for summer is sunscreen that protects me, yet lets my skin turn from sheet white to a pretty bronzed color. I’m not sure there is such a thing, but it would be wonderful. Sometime this summer there is sure to be some sunshine!

    My summer must-have is definitely Aveda Botanical Kinetics Purifying Gel Cleanser. I need something more powerful to combat the heat & humidity – it really helps my skin do that.
