And Since We’re On A Hairy Subject…

exfolishave

I’ve used the Venus razor for years – the original one with the 3 blades, and was a happy with the results.   Then about a year ago I tried the Venus Embrace – the one with 5 blades, because heaven knows 3 blades are just not enough!   I had great results with that as well, until about three months ago when I started getting razor bumps and ingrown hairs.   I never used to have that problem, in fact I was one of those rare persons who could get a perfectly slick leg from using only water to shave.   So I thought I’d go back to the 3 blade Venus, after I went to the bank to take out a loan to buy a package of blades.  Seriously, why are they so expensive for a DISPOSABLE blade?

Anyway, my problem was still not resolved, so then I moved on to various shaving creams.   I went through two partially used bottles of shaving cream and even trying just the lather from a bar of soap.   Still no luck.

Then ExfoliShave came into my life (it was sent to me by the creator of the line) and I thought I have nothing to lose so why not try it.  I opened the jar expecting it to be more like a regular exfoliator – creamy in texure with beads.    Nope.    It looks like dried coffee grounds.   In fact, I wondered if maybe it hadn’t dried out in shipping because there was just no way that this strange textured coffee ground looking jar of product could do wonders on my legs.

I shouldn’t have worried.    All you do is take a scoop of this out of the jar and start rubbing and it exfoliates as well as turns into a lather.  Once it’s a lather, shave away.   The first time I tried this it reduced the redness and irritation by more than 50% on me.  The next time I shaved – absolutely no irritation at all!   I was truly amazed, just like Afifeh said I would be.

So while I’m now using Silk’n SensEpil to try and permanently remove my hair, I still need to shave before using the machine.   It makes the process so much more pleasant now that I don’t need to worry about irritation again because of ExfoliShave.
