 Fab Finds

I’ve missed doing the Fab Over 40 5 Fab Finds with all the holiday craziness keeping me quite occupied. So I’m back to adding it to the regular lineup of posts. I always love to hear from you too as to what are some of your fab finds, so be sure to leave some of your picks in the comments so I can check them out!

Paper by 53 iPad App – this app was named one of the top apps by Apple for 2o12 and I can see why. I’ve had a lot of fun playing with this app – it lets my creative side out when I need a break from the daily routine of life. I can pretend I’m an artist, which by no means I am, but I do enjoy thinking I am! The app is free, but the attachments that make it work and so worthwhile are at a minimal price.

Ficcare Maximas Clip for hair. Since I’ve grown my hair out I’ve enjoyed trying different styles with my hair. However, I like things quick and simple and sometimes I want beyond the basic ponytail or half-up do.  I discovered this Ficcare Maximas Clip while shopping at Nordstrom one day and love how I can twist my hair and put the clip in and it stays put. It lets me pretend I have a little bit of Audrey Hepburn in me.

Marta glassware – I like my dishes and glassware simple and clean.  Call me crazy but I don’t like pattern interfering with the food. Now you may take a look at these glasses and think there’s nothing special about them, that is until you see them close up and personal. They are über thin and sleek. Mr. Fab didn’t even think they were real glass they are so thin. They’re available in 3 sizes at CB2.

Cavas Wine Lodge in Mendoza Argentina – This time of year I get antsy and am always thinking of places I want to go see and things to do. I had the opportunity a few years back to go to Buenos Aires and Mendoza, Argentina. It was a remarkable trip, but possibly the most memorable part was visiting the various wineries in Mendoza and staying at the Cavas Wine Lodge and I desire to return to that beautiful part of the world. The views are breathtaking at the foot of the Andes Mountains and the food and spa services and incredible at Cavas Wine Lodge (I think I gained 5 pounds that week!). And the people were some of the friendliest, most accommodating I’ve ever met.

Laurel Denise Planner – We all have super busy lives and if you’re like me you live on your technology all the time – iPad, iPhone, computer are always withinin reach. But sometimes I like to take it back to the paper and pen and I can do it with my Laurel Denise planner. Because life is so crazy I need to plan and every Sunday I get out the sheet that gives me the week in review and I write what I want/need to get done on those days. It also has a “to do this month” page and I find that especially helpful in planning Fab Over 40 blog. I write down topics I want to discuss for the month and plan them into the weekly “to do this week” sections. It helps me from feeling too overwhelmed and tricks me into thinking I’m organized.
