So you’re over 40 and you see all these bright colors for spring and think “I can’t wear those, I’d look too silly”. Wrong! Maybe you don’t want to try that fuchsia eye shadow or lime green lipstick – can’t say I blame you, but these new limited edition Laura Mercier nail colors and lipsticks are truly Très Chic.
Now you can wear the happy colors of spring! With Laura Mercier’s new limited edition nail collection (the first in years) your nails are the perfect place to wear these fun shades. Available in six new shades:
- Cabana – “dreamsicle” coral
- Sizzle – hot orange
- Luscious – bright purple
- Flamingo – fuchsia
- Oh La La – sheer soft pink
These colors are wonderful for spring, but my only issue is with the packaging. Typically when there is a large cap like this one, it is removable to reveal a smaller screw on top connected to the brush. This however, does not have the removable cap and can be awkward to handle. I hope if Laura Mercier decides to keep nail polish in her line-up that there is consideration for a re-design on the lid. But, I like these so well that I’m willing to work around the clumsiness.
For the lipsticks, these are gel-based lipsticks that are soft and creamy and cushiony on the lips. The shades are vibrant in the tube, but go on more sheer than what you think they might. The shades are in:
- Rosette – a sheer pink
- Dollface – a sheer blue pink
- Orchid – a sheer purple with some shimmer
- Poppy – sheer red with shimmer
- Clementine – a sheer red orange
Shown on top is Rosette, the middle is Dollface from the new gel lipstick line and on the bottom is Tempting Coral – not one of the new lipsticks but the Lip Shine in a pot from the new Lingerie Collection, another shade that is bright and yet wearable.
So go ahead, get your color on!
A few pieces from this collection were received in consideration of review.

I LOVE the nail color you’re wearing, but I’m such a klutz I’d probably have to have my nail tech do it for me. And the lip colors look gorgeous!! I bought “Tempting Coral” in the pot when I was in Chicago last weekend (didn’t know they had a Blue Mercury–one of my fave stores!). Great color.
