May Is National Skin Cancer Awareness Month
Yes, it’s that time again to prepare for the hot summer sun. Well, actually even if the sun may not be hot, you still need to be wearing sunscreen every day. It is good to get your vitamin D and be in the sun for 20 minutes without sunscreen, but try not to do it during the time of day when the sun is the strongest.
If you want to know you are getting a safe sunscreen, look for this seal of approval. Or you can check out their site to get a list of all the products that they approve beyond just sunscreen. And most of all, enjoy the sun!
Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion SPF 55. My son is home from college and works outdoors everyday, all day. He “borrowed” this from my cabinet and now uses it every day.
I am actually dying to try this Kate Somerville Protect SPF 55 face serum sunscreen. It’s non-whitening and dries quickly, protecting against UVA and UVB rays.
Neutrogena makes a great range of suncare products. I love this dry-touch formula – it instantly dries and is never greasy. I turned my boss onto this one and his dermatologist highly approved.
This La Roche-Posay Anthelios 40 sunscreen cream has UVA protection with Mexoryl 5X and offers broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. This cream absorbs quickly with just a moisturized feeling. I purchased this when I was traveling and forgot my sunscreen at home. I was pleasantly surprised.
This Coppertone UltraGuard is one of the many Skin Cancer Foundation’s recommendations. And Brooke Shield is their spokesperson. Enough said.
Remember to be safe in the sun and get checked yearly for skin cancer. In fact my son Sam even asked me if it’s that time of year again!
