Estee Lauder Nutritious Vita-Mineral Foundation

Estée Lauder has a new foundation in two different formulations.   It’s called Nutritious Vita-Mineral Foundation and it’s available in either a powder or liquid formula, with the powder formula containing SPF 15 and the liquid SPF 10.

This foundation is a nutrient-rich formula that brings energy, radiance and protection all with a flawless finish to our faces.   When life’s grueling demands start to show on our faces, it’s time to do something about it, and if using a foundation that helps the skin along with your daily skin care regimen, then I’m there!

Nutritious Vita-Mineral is formulated with Pomegranate extract, a powerful nutrient-dense fruit that we’ve all been reading about.   It utilizes the fruit’s skin boosting nutrients and potent antioxidants such as Vitamin C and E along with Iron, Potassium, and Magnesium to give your skin a burst of radiance for a healthy glow and vibrancy.

Pomegranate extract also works to neutralize free radicals and protect the skin from harmful environmental conditions and Titanium Dioxide is used to protect your skin against damaging UVA and UVB rays.    Along with all the wonderful skin-boosting nutrients and powerful protection, it also contains Microsphere Powders which give your face that soft glow by hiding imperfections and Silica powders to absorb excess oil.

I’ve been using the liquid formula of this and really like it.  It’s not drying, nor does it leave my face all shiny and fake looking.   It just gives my skin a great finish!  This could be the perfect foundation if you are looking to give your skin the extra boost it may be needing, especially for us Fabulous Over Forty gals.  It is available at counters and online beginning in February.

Brooke Shields, the hot over-forty actress is showing up everywhere.   Her latest is spokesperson for a new product by Coppertone called NutraShield™ Faces SPF70+ with Dual Defense.

This new Coppertone includes photostable UVA/UVB sun protection as well as nourishing antioxidants to promote natural skin repair.  This is definitely something we all need – whether over 40 or not, but especially if you’re over 40.  And, it’s reasonably priced at $10.49 for a 3 oz bottle.  This is available at food, drug, mass and internet retailers.

This Coppertone NutraShield is:

  • Waterproof
  • Hypoallergenic and Non-comedogenic
  • Non-greasy
  • Lightweight
  • Moisturizing
  • Appropriate for everyday use

I applaud Coppertone for getting Brooke Shields as a spokesperson – she’s a mom and not only naturally beautiful, she’s real.

The Cos Bar

Do you ever go to a department store craving to take a look around at some product, and not all from just one line?   I know I do (a lot)!  But even the other day while I was at a famous department store looking at just one line of product, I was approached by literally – FIVE people asking me if I was looking for something!   I kid you not, I had not moved 10 feet around the counter.   Honestly, it’s one thing that really irks me – sometimes I just want to look!  And if I’ve been approached once or twice and say – “no, I’m not looking for anything specific, but just checking out the new things so I’m just going to look around.  I’ll be happy to get you if I need anything.”   That’s what I mean – I just want to look around!  I like to scope out new things before I talk to anyone.

Angelina Jolie’s SAG Award Beauty

15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals

I personally like this dress better than the “deadly” looking grey dress she wore to the Golden Globes, but I’m not so sure about this hair – I can’t seem to put my finger on it – is it the style (although I loved the back)or that just all one color “out of the bottle look”.   Hmmm.

Angelina wore a dark, navy blue Max Azria gown and celebrity makeup artist Mary Burton wanted to create a 60’s look and chose to focus on Angelina’s eyes.

She applied lots of eyeliner and mascara. She used a liquid eyeliner (Lancôme Artliner in Noir) just above the lash line. To compliment Angelina’s eye color and to make her eyes really stand out, she applied a bluish grey eyeshadow (YSL Ombre Solo Double Effect Eyeshadow in #3 Blue Silk) to the eyelid. Finally, she applied several coats of Lancôme Courbe Virtuôse Mascara in Black. (Loved the eyes!)

Mary added a touch of pink to the apples of the cheeks using Shu Uemura blush in M Pink 31. To create ultra-shiny and luminous lips, Mary used Lancôme Color Fever Gloss in Rose Jolie.
