Is Plastic Surgery Right For You?

It seems these days that everywhere you look there are articles in magazines about plastic surgery. You hear about the next new procedure, the advancements of this, the next wave of that, and if you are contemplating surgery where do you turn? It can all be very overwhelming and confusing.

Now, surgery is not my thing, (at least not now!) but it may well be yours, and I’m not here to judge, but even if I don’t know you personally, I want you to be safe. The thing you must be certain about though when contemplating any type of cosmetic procedure is to make sure you have a cosmetic surgery professional who is board certified.

We’ve all heard the horror stories of fly-by-night “doctors” that have left people scarred and ruined for life, or worse. By choosing a board certified surgeon, you are getting someone who is trained to uphold modern standards and is well qualified to practice their craft. Of all the doctors that are board certified there are still many surgeons to choose from, so make sure that you are very clear in your discussion of your goals, expectations and that you and the surgeon you select agree on everything.

I hope that if you choose to do cosmetic surgery that you research, research, research. It’s your life, and it’s the only one you get.

Beauty On A Budget – Dove Body Spray

I may have been a bit remiss the last few weeks with my “Beauty on a Budget” column, but what I’ve been occupied with recently speaks to my budget item today.

See, I’ve been busy moving children to college. Yes, the time is finally here and I’ve been trying to handle things as best as I can, but being an empty nester is something that is going to take a lot of getting used to.

So what does this all have to do with this Dove Go Fresh Body Mist? Well, like I said, I’ve been moving kids, and well, hauling box upon box of their lives into un-airconditioned dorms, it can take a toll on your freshness and that’s where this comes in.

I love this little bottle – small enough to put in your handbag, just spray wherever on your body when you need a little freshening up. My particular favorite is the Cucumber and Green Tea scent. It’s refreshing, and not heavy at all, with a little bit of moisturizer in it for the skin, so it’s not drying at all.

Perfect for those late summer/early fall hot days when you feel you need a body freshening, or if you happen to be moving boxes all day into a dorm. Less than $5.00

Bobbi Brown Artist Palette For Lips

Bobbi Brown Artist Palette for Lips

Right now I am going into hysterics looking at this palette. It’s available exclusively at Neiman Marcus and it completely makes me feel like a kid in a candy store.

Look at all those beautiful colors, all at your fingertips. No need to open up all the little cases and try and figure out what lipstick you want to wear – open up the palette and the world of color opens up to you!

Just. Take. A. Breath.

There are 42 shades in this palette. 21 of them are the standard lip color which is semi-matte and full coverage, 11 are creamy color formula and 10 are the sheer formula.

At $200 it’s not a spur-of-the-moment purchase. But, if you do the math – 42 lipsticks are normally $22 each, that’s $924 if bought separately!
