 ecotools

Well lovely ladies, I’m back!   I’ve been on an incredible vacation to St. John’s USVI and had the most relaxing, wonderful time.   Then reality hit when we landed last night around midnight and it was snowing and it hasn’t quit yet and won’t until Tuesday.  Ugh.    So, let’s turn this into a good day instead with not one, but two sets of ecoTOOLS bamboo eye brush sets to give away!

I spoke the other day about what a great set this is – good for home and yes, travel!   These brushes are incredibly soft and angled just so for great application.  I also want to share some makeup application videos with you – put out by ecoTOOLS.   Makeup artist Meredith Baraf shows us how to use the various ecoTOOLS brushes to create great looks – just click on the various titles to view.

To enter to win one of these eye brush sets, just enter your name in COMMENTS below.   Contest ends on Thursday, Feb. 11th at noon CST.   Good luck!

LashFood – A Natural Way for Lush Lashes

Posted by Kari on Feb-3-2010

LashFood

We all have become obsessed with eyelashes.    I’ve heard more about eyelashes in this last year than years and years combined.   We want long, full, thick, amazing lashes no matter what age we are.   Lashes make the eyes pop.   Lashes are more simple than eye shadows.   Lashes are more simple than foundation.   Lashes are more simple than blush or bronzer.   You can’t go wrong with lashes and something as simple as mascara.

LashFood has added to their popular Natural Eyelash Conditioner $120 with LashFood Conditioning Eyeliner $21 and LashFood Drama Mascara $27.

Use the Natural Eyelash Conditioner along the lash line in the evening, use the eyeliner and mascara during the day to give your eyelashes the 1-2-3 beauty punch!   Made from natural ingredients including herbal extracts and are dermatology tested

This all makes me wonder, if you don’t have the funds to invest $120 in the Eyelash Conditioner, will the Conditioning Eyeliner and Drama Mascara give you the same results if you use those two together?   I’d love to hear if anyone has tried this combo or a portion of the combo and what your success has been.  LashFood has the set of three on sale now thru 2/15.   I think most everyone who uses eyelash conditioners has a least some degree of success, and this one with natural ingredients has me tempted to try because I don’t want to risk the color of my eyes, which is a side effect of other brands.

Getting gorgeous, going green and giving back

Starting today ecoTOOLS has some new brushes available added to their already successful brush line.   EcoTOOLS are earth friendly products that are reasonably priced.    These makeup handles are made from bamboo with recycled aluminum ferrules and the bristles are cruelty free taklon.

6 piece eye brush

The new 6 piece eye brush set is only $7.99 and comes in a natural hemp and cotton case with a mirror.    They include:

  • Large Eye Shadow Brush
  • Angled Crease Brush
  • Petite Eye Shading Brush
  • Domed Highlighting Brush
  • Smudge Brush

Each brush also is imprinted with the name to assist in application – that makes it so simple!

Eco Tools Bronzer Brush

The Bronzer brush is only $9.99 and is a really full, super-soft head.   Again this is made out of the same materials as the eye brush set.

I am amazed at the quality of these brushes and their ease of use that are great for the beginner to the expert.     I beg of you to throw away the ity-bity brushes that come with your makeup and get quality brushes.   At these prices, everyone can afford them!     Available at Walgreens, www.eco-tools.com Ulta and other retailers.

Zoya Reverie – A Tropical Delight

Talk about a tropical punch in the middle of winter!  I love these fabulous Zoya Reverie colors and am currently wearing the pink shade Reece on my nails.  I figured it would fit right in for my trip to the tropics that is coming up.   It’s a bright pink toned down with iridescent shimmer, which reminds me of a gorgeous silk fabric.  Surprisingly, I’ve never really worn shimmer nail polishes much before and I really like how these have a golden iridescence to them.   I debated about putting on the orange shades of Gwin (the lighter of the two) or Lana or even the lighter pink shade Happi.   I wasn’t daring enough to go the silver or purple shades of Laney and Adina though.

If you need a punch of color to brighten your day and are nervous about too much color, painting your nails a fun color is the way to go.   I’m almost certain one of these will put a smile on your face during the doldrums of winter.
